Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özden Gökdemir is a specialist in Medicine and Environment at the Faculty of Medicine, Izmir University of Economics, where she serves in the Department of Family Medicine and has held the title of Associate Professor since 2022.Dr. Gökdemir earned her medical degree from Karadeniz Technical University and completed her Family Medicine specialization and doctoral studies at Dokuz Eylül University.

Her clinical and academic interests span cancer screening programmes, planetary health, lifestyle medicine, obesity and chronic disease management, migrant and rural health, and environmental health. She was past- chair of the WONCA Working Party on Planetary Health and has held leadership roles in several international organizations, including the European Young Doctors Movement (Vasco da Gama Movement’s) Mental Health Special Interest Group, EURIPA’s Executive Committee and Scientific Board, and ELMO’s Scientific Council.
